I'm sorry, I haven't yet gotten my pictures from Paris up on the blog. I'm working on it. I really needed a therapeutic weekend where I didn't have to think too much, so I didn't do anything "brain heavy". It's been a bad week for cognitive abilities, and I've been having bouts of dizziness and have been banging into walls and such. I can't remember the last time I was so irritable - just about everything is ticking me off. I really needed a weekend of nothing.
Anyway, crunchtime is rearing its ugly head. We have a bit over a year left here in bella Italia and so we are narrowing down our travel plans to those we are most passionate about. Reality sucks, but we know we have a good foothold here and have made many, many friends around Europe. We'll be back! And we're excited for the future of course, but moving is hard, and we are set on enjoying what little time we have left at this point in our lives. Most importantly, we're not stressing too much about it (or trying not to, anyway).
So we're crossing Morocco off the list (sounds interesting, but neither of us are very passionate about going). Romania and Ukraine are also getting crossed off. Venice, unless I go with my family when they visit, holds little interest for me. Bulgaria and Montenegro would have been fun but it's just not worth the money at this point. Scotland would be fun but it's not a priority. We're working on the list, and it just seems like there's still so much and just not enough time. A cruise sounds perfect for us, enabling us to see many places in a short amount of time. We'll see.
Sounds like you guys are doing what we're doing. I would say if you get a chance to go to Venice for a quick 3 day weekend with David...not in summer...do it. It's so cute, and almost like a "Italy as done by Disney". We went in Jan and it was super affordable, and although chilly, totally fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd a cruise is a great idea - we are aiming for the one that does Denmark, up through Russia. That'll knock a bit off our list.
