Plans for Florence fell through and will wait until I receive my Rick Steves 2013 Italy tour book. I'll feel like I'm missing out unless I have lots of suggestions and ideas... Don't want to miss out on any part of the history, culture, or the city while I'm up there! Anyway, I will still find fun local stuff to do this weekend. Possibly will go up to Rome for one night on a nice solo trip. We'll see. Whatever it is will be last minute and fun, I'm sure.
In other news, my neighbor has told me that she has found me local farms where I can find the following:
- fresh chicken eggs (next door)
- fresh duck eggs (from her mother's two ducks, who are currently growing and not quite laying yet, but will be soon)
- and fresh chicken meat (from a local farm where I can even pick the chicken I want, bring it to my landlord's husband Tonino, and have it slaughtered...)
Talk about fresh! I don't know how often, or even if I'll pursue that, but it's good to know I have options on where to source my food. Local, fresh food, where I can learn about how it's grown and harvested. That's very important to me.
I'm so excited about the chicken and duck eggs!
